Friday night we attended a daiquiri party before watching the fireworks and heading out to the bars. We kind of missed the fireworks, but I guess there is always next year. The night was completed with Debster making us all breakfast sandwiches at 3 am and my father falling asleep on the porch.
Saturday begins with a parade which means the partying starts even earlier, like before noon. This parade was also the last parade my dad will walk in since he is not running for City Councilor again, so we made him some signs for his send-off. I managed to hold off my alcohol consumption until 1 pm, then we bar-hopped our way down to the big block party they have every year. There was live music, plenty to drink, and even a little rain couldn't spoil every one's good time. Only for my family the party did not end when the bars closed, we brought the party back to my parents' house and we were up, still drinking until 6 am! We drew on a couple faces, jumped on the trampoline, and watched the sun come up. As much fun as we had though, I was still recovering four days later. I'm not as young as I was once was...

Congratulations Margaret and Brent! The baby looks just like your dad and is that a beer in his/her hand? We wish a you a very happy and healthy pregnancy and baby.
