1st Annual Hannan Family Cousin Reunion

Just when I thought my first summer living closer to home could not get any better, my cousin Maureen organized a mini reunion of sorts to include our immediate family- aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course the grandparents... after all they are the ones that started it all.

We organized a day of fun filled activities that we did growing up together. There was run down, Texas horseshoes, wiffle ball, jet skiing, and tubing. We even went old school with a slip-n-slide! We had t-shirts and koozies made, complete with numbers on the back of the shirts in accordance with our birth order. We lined up to take pictures with our shirts on in birth order, which was fine until someone suggested that we rearrange ourselves to line up by height and see how the numbers on our backs would change. Much to my displeasure, I am only four away from being the shortest out of all the cousins. And did I mention that the four below me are all age 13 and under, which means they are not even done growing! Man am I in trouble. Brent and Shelby were given numbers, tacked onto the end, for being officially married into the family, while Nate and Travis are only "boyfriends." Sorry guys- double zeros for you! We topped off the night with a bonfire and homemade popcorn made by our grandfather served in our official name-sake popcorn bowls... delicious (and I don't think I've had it in 10 years or more!).

We played, partied, ate, and drank from 11 am to well past midnight. The entire day was a success and I cannot wait to do it all again next year. How we're ever going to top it I have no idea!

Group shots... (I'm #2 by the way)

Run down, slip-n-slide, wiffle ball, popcorn...
A couple more...
