233 Years Young!

Happy 233rd Birthday to the United States Marine Corps! Tank Battalion's ball was down in Myrtle Beach this year which we knew could only mean one thing- awesome! We were really looking forward to it and it did not disappoint. The food was much better than the last one we went to, there was no guest speaker which meant the ceremony was short and sweet, and the cranberry and vodka's were going down like water. Ha ha, of course this led to me getting sick once we got back to our hotel room (I will spare you all the details). After the ceremony we hung out for a while, watching people that have no business dancing in public break it down to the Cupid Shuffle and Cotton Eyed Joe, just to name a few. When we had had enough, everyone headed to Broadway at the Beach where I am pretty sure we hit up three or four different bars, but who was counting? The guys all stayed in their Blues, and the girls in their dresses. Shots were a plenty, and we certainly stood out in the crowd.

One of my favorite moments from the night was at the piano bar where they played "Proud to be an American," all the guys were on the stage singing. The crowd just stood up the whole time clapping and giving them a standing ovation. Pretty cool. Then another guy, drunk but sincere, cornered Brent and I at the bar to tell us how amazing Brent was for his service and even gave me props for "being the one that loves him." Ha ha. Nicely put. Here are a few pictures, including one from the piano bar and you can see Brent up on stage. A special thanks to Moe for letting me borrow her dress- I didn't spill anything on it, I promise!
