Well it was rough going, and someone at US Airways screwed up BIG time- but Johnny made it back down to the NC for a hockey game. Long story short- someone at US Airways was supposed to make sure Johnny made his connecting flight in Philadelphia, and didn't. They left him alone in the airport and he missed his flight. Now while this was all happening, I was making the hour drive to the airport to pick Johnny up, not knowing I would only leave with his luggage. It took Johnny asking for help from a complete stranger to get him any help from US Airways (a big thank you to Robert) and to make sure he would not miss his second flight. Johnny was going to have to sit in the Philadelphia airport for another 5 hours before his next flight departed. Johnny bid his time between flights by riding around with a US Airways employee on the car that takes people through the airport to their gates. (you know the kind, they make that horrendous beeping noise and almost run you over) Meanwhile I drove home from the airport, waited a few hours, then made the drive back to the airport. To say that my family was none to happy with US Airways is putting it midly.Once Johnny got here he was on vacation. He slept in, had the house to himself while I was at work, and ate like a King. He did after all give me a list of groceries he wanted my house stocked with prior to his arrival. We headed to Raleigh to have dinner with Tommy, Shelby, and some of their friends- then it was time for the main event of the week. The New York Rangers vs. Carolina Hurricanes hockey game. Johnny was decked out in his Rangers jersey while I was sporting my Rangers coat, and surprisingly no one yelled at us this year. Johnny tried all game to get the attention of the Hurricanes "dancers" to throw him a t-shirt but had no luck. I couldn't bear to tell him that they probably weren't going to throw one to someone rooting for the opposing team. But Johnny did get $2 out of the night, as per his bet with Tommy. Rangers won and all were happy. Well, except for maybe Tommy.

Johnny and I rounded out the weekend with dinner at my friends Jennifer and Cameron's house where Johnny amazed them with his fluent Chinese speaking abilities. I am happy to report there were no incidences on the way home and Johnny made it home safe and sound without being stranded in an airport. As it should be. Now I wait for a phone call from Johnny to tell me when next year's game is, so until then.
Jennifer, Johnny Cash, and Cameron
