New York State of Mind

So first thing's first- Brent and I and the dogs have moved back to New York! We were excited to be going closer to home yet sad to leave our house and all our friends in North Carolina. Of course the move did not go as smoothly as we had hoped, never does right? A 15 hour, turned 12 hour car ride ended up taking 17 hours. Brent was driving his truck with Bauer in it, I had Lexi in my X-terra, both trucks filled to the top with stuff we didn't have the movers take... and between traffic, construction, and both of us being exhausted that was a very LONG 17 hours in the car. Two energy drinks and one peanut butter and jelly sandwich (from a gas station) later- I was officially a resident of New York again.

But we've made it, and we are mostly moved in and settled. The only problem is that we had a little trouble fitting everything from our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 car garage house into our current 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, absolutely no storage space whatsoever apartment. Good thing my parents have a pretty big garage with some extra room in the back, we have already brought three truck loads of stuff up to be stored there.

Now that we have been here just over a month, I can say there are a couple things I miss about North Carolina, but only a couple: I miss the beach, our friends all living down the street, our house with fenced in yard, and gas pumps that you do not have to hold the whole time you are filling up your car. But that's pretty much it. Brent has started his new job, and I have as well. Brent is working very long hours and still getting settled into the new position as the Operations Officer while I am working at a sports performance training center for athletes ages 2-22. So far I like it a lot and they are giving me the freedom to begin some programs of my own which I am working on as we speak. So there it is- the official Rider status update, sorry it took me so long!
Not much left after the movers came

"You guys are taking us with you right?"
