Valentine's Day- Gone to the Dogs

Brent and I woke up this morning to a not-so-pleasant surprise. Brent opened the door to let Lexi and Bauer out to the bathroom and Jack (who we were dog-sitting for our friend Bob) started barking and going crazy in his crate. He could see out to our backyard and was not impressed with the two large Huskies he saw surrounding Lexi and sniffing her all over. Our neighbor's dogs had dug a hole under our fence and were in our yard! So Brent got our dogs back inside and went out to corral the neighbor's dogs. They were returned to their rightful owner and Brent placed a palate of wood over the hole on our side until he can fill it back in. It would be one thing if we knew, or liked those dogs, but we don't. They bark constantly and always have a look on their faces that say, "we want to eat your dogs!" Let's just say they were not welcomed guests.

After that, the day was pretty uneventful, we spent a quiet Valentine's Day around the house being lazy with the dogs. Brent has a pretty awful cold and was not feeling up for going out so we enjoyed a nice romantic dinner of Subway and McDonald's, then rented some movies. Boy does Brent know how to treat a girl right! Ha ha, just kidding. My brother Johnny called today to ask what we did last night and asked, "candies, flowers, cards?" He did not seem to impressed when I told him we only gave each other a card. Ha ha. Hey, I was just glad that Brent was not deployed this year- having him even in this country was a gift enough.
