This Blows!

Brent's deployment that is. So after Brent left I received a few care packages... two came in the form of boxes left at my front door, and one flew in on plane from NY. My cousin Molly flew down on the same day Brent left and stayed through the weekend to keep me from lapsing into a bored, sad, deep state of depression. (Ha ha, how I exaggerate.) We drank... a lot, shopped... a lot, and had a lot of laughs. It definitely helped keep my mind off things and I am grateful to Molly for making the trip. Just don't ask her how she did at Super Nintendo- let's just say Luigi is not on her good side right now.

The other two packages came from The Stafford Wives, my good friends I met in Virginia. Carolyn sent me a goodie box with a "this blows" t-shirt, a clock to set for Iraqi time, some of my favorite candy, and she even threw in some treats for the dogs. Then I received a really fun arrangement of sugar cookies in the shape of martini glasses from all three of the Stafford Wives. Really, does it get any better than that- delicious cookies that look like delicious drinks?

I want to thank Molly, Carolyn, Casey, and Sommer for helping me get through the first few days. Who could be depressed eating a martini sugar cookie while at the same time kicking your cousin's butt at Super Nintendo?

Hey Girlie. I'm thinking about you! I spoke to your mom the other day. She said you'd be home for a while at xmas. Me too! We definitely need some cocktails Midge and Stoogey style.
